Here she is in all her glory, meet Persephone, my new piece of work from the Legacy series. Made from silk flowers, snake skin, birds wings, snail shells and insects, this piece took over a year to make.
If you would like to come and see her, the private view for our exhibition is tomorrow, Sunday 11th November 1.00pm until 4.00pm at The Horsebridge Centre, 11 Horsebridge Road, Whitstable. The exhibition will be on until 13th November.
Persephone is from a series of three sculptures. Using gathered and found objects (silk flowers, birds wings, insects) these sculptures investigate themes of memento mori and metamorphosis.
This sculpture will be shown as part of the exhibition ‘Fragments’, a survey of 6 different artists on the theme of fragmentation and disintegration.
‘Fragments’ will be at Whitstable’s Horsebridge Centre (The Horsebridge Centre 11 Horsebridge Road, Whitstable, Kent CT5 1AF) from Wednesday 7th November to Tuesday 13th November 2012.
Private View on Sunday 11th November 13.00-16.00

Work In Progress
I’m working on a new sculptural piece for an exhibition in November.
A small detail from the sculpture I am working on, it will be covered in a multitude of birds wings, butterflies, other insect life and silk flowers….. This will take quite some time and lots of love
