Best Wedding Invite EVER!!
It’s no secret that I am a massive geek so when it came to our wedding invite all the usual ideas for invites were just not for us. We went to our good friend and the Gandalf of illustration Mr Mark Barnes and asked him for something different. We wanted two designs, one for our wedding in Sweden and one for our party here in the UK, we spoke to Mark about all our geeky loves and BOOM he came up with these beauties…. he is a bloody genius!
How many movies references can you spot?
Please check out Marks website www.markbarnesillustration.com if you would like to commission him to do some AWESOME for you.

Sneak peek at my latest hat shoot from this afternoon with the very gorgeous Meg.
Geisha Me
We have just returned home from Japan. I feel incredibly inspired by my time there. Can’t wait to use that inspiration to create some new headpieces.
This is a piccie of me dressed as a maiko (student geisha) in Kyoto.
“Love Of My Father”, from Zara Carpenter’s new collection.
Here’s Zara story behind the hat:
This headpiece is made on a satin covered headband and sinamay base. It is adorned with a pair of pigeons wings, an adult pigeons head, nestled with a casting of a juvenile pigeon on a bed of fabric violets. The pigeon wing and head is covered in black fine glitter, representing ashes.
My father kept pigeons when I was young, he would send them off on long races and sometimes they won. He adored his pigeons. My father died when I was 15 which broke my heart and changed my life forever. Many people think pigeons are vermin but I love them and I always thought that is we did come back again once we die then maybe he would come back as a pigeon.’
